oh bugger, thats it!! im sick of living down south with none of this gorgeous scenery. not only that, your getting lovely light too!! its been utter cr*p down here most of this year - and im going crazy!!
With regards to this image melanie, i find it exquisite in nearly every way. The scenery youve captured with the snowy mountains is gorgeous. The light is spectacular - absolutely spectacular - couldnt have been better. The lake is a perfect reflection - gorgeous. I have to be honest though and say that theres something about the comp I dont find appealing. I think in this case i would have prefered an exact 50/50 split as in this case i find its a bit unbalanced by having a tiny bit more sky. I think it may have been better to have a tiny bit more water than sky, but I can see you were intent on getting the lovely colour clouds in. Its crazy to be critical about such a beautiful image, and Im not disrepecting the image as I think its superb in so many ways - a definate one for the wall regardless of my little critique.
Adam.

Great light and colour you have captured Melanie. Ive stood at this spot many times and the light is always doing something different.. Snow capped peaks always seem to add something extra.. Heading to Mull for a week in April for a photography trip, all tips gratefully received ![]()
Nice one.

Melanie, I have only just discovered your portfolio. What a fantastic collection of images! I know many of your chosen locations and your handling of them is among the best I have seen. Beautiful lighting, strong compositions and a sound technical approach are all in evidence. This image is no exception. Superb. More please.
