A return to one of my favourite places in the British Isles......the Fairy Pools on Skye. You really can't ask for a better backdrop to these pools than the mighty Cuillin Mountain range.
Taken last Wednesday on a day trip from the mainland, and....well....it wouldent be the same without bumping into another EPZer! This time Phill (Landlord) and his photography widow wife. Nice to meet you both Smile

Got to agree about that backdrop (although I've never seen them first hand) I'd say your choice of shutter speed is just about perfect as well, the water has just enough movement but you've caught the splashes as well

Thanks Mark Grin

Thankyou everyone for the clicks and comments......wen't to Oz instead of a Rowardennan meet Davie????? Strange person!!!

re shutter speed and exposure, yes it was challanging conditions....early afternoon bright sunshine and the shadows of the rocks and mountains. hadto use a 6 & 9 ND grad to hold back the sky. This shot works ok, but the pools further up have lossed quite a bit through the quick shutter speed......but hey, it was Skye with snow and it wasent raining, so I'm not going to complain! Wink

Theres a well earned 40 for a stunning image. I prefer the portrait version as it emphasises the waterfall.
