It is better to allow a photograph to talk to us, to give us food for thought, than merely to supply all the answers ready-made.

About Me

Retired teacher of French, German and Music, and Nikon addict since my Press Photographer father died in 1974. More recently I have become a devotee of Micro 4/3: I can carry an entire system round with less strain on my back than a normal DSLR + lens can cause.

I supplied various journals with regular photoreportage of off-road 4x4 competitions in the 1980s. Photography remains a passion but purely as a hobby, in which I include occasional duties as Community Photographer in my adopted town of Prudhoe.

I am an opportunist - I photograph almost anything I can point my camera at. EPZ has ensured that I walk round with my eyes open.

But I try not to do 'normal' most of the time; photographs of animals and birds are just not my thing. There are too many real photographs waiting to be taken for me to have more than a passing interest in multiple layers of digital art.

If this all makes me sound like a Grumpy Old Man, it's about right!
