When we stopped off at Keswick en route from South Wales we enjoyed a couple of hours without rain. Just time for a stroll out to Friar's Crag and a photo or two.
17mm, 1/800th sec. @ f8, ISO 200, -1.3 EV
Beautiful image and great composition too.
Ooh lovely! I shall be there next week.
Wow .... Didnt expect this sort of image from you
Perfect in every way
Dark & moody.
I like the atmosphere this image generates.
Mean and moody Bill but it's all there.
NIce atmospheric shot Bill
Beautifully framed and exposed, very moody good reflection too.
Powerfully emotive. Well done.
Good morning Bill what a beautiful landscape, fabulous composition and so atmospheric, beautifully taken.
I can see why legends emerged from these lands. I would expect to see a water god rising here.
Looks like the rain is threatening to come back here Bill.
Yes,mean and moody, with a mean and moody reflection to match.
Beautiful image indeed Bill - love it !
Like your Framing Bill, certainly looks like rain on the way.
incredibly atmospheric shot Bill, utterly superb shot
beautiful atmospheric composition and best when viewed large.
Stunning choice of composition and exposure Bill.
Super atmosphere in this one. Love those curly branches. Wonderful image.......Sandy
That's a beautiful scene, Bill, excellent use of the tree to frame the image, the moody blue hues are so good,
very fine image,
By eck, landscape as well!
Smashing shot. Thanks for sharing.
So beautiful and moody, Bill. And so cool that low light afforded you 1/800th sec! Although the -1/3EV and ISO200 helped a bit. You must have good glass too! Niiice.
I love the mood captured here Bill, this is a REAL winner.
Oooh I love dark and moody landscapes, and those branches are just so delicate against that cold sky.
Nice mood and comp Bill the trees frame the picture well, hope you had a good time
Wow ~ this is gorgeous. Soooo moody. Wonderful, Bill.
Wonderful tones. Moody, yes, but also a little eerie. Love it.
I like this very much. - gary
Fabulous upload BIll.
So much depth with the stark tree foreground and distant mountains.
This is excellent Bill.Nice capture.
The branches across the top set this off well but I find the patch of bright sky a touch distracting. Slight adjustments in shadows/highlights tones that down a little and combined with an equally slight adjustment to levels, there's quite a bit of detail hiding in the foreground.
Just my opinion.
Atmosphere is everything for some images Bill and this shot has it in spades! Great comp, lovely tones - Fabulous!
P.S. Luke has just been accepted by the University of the West of England in Bristol to do his photography degree - Hoorah!!
Hey Bill, I love this, the comp is superb with that tree framing you have going on and well ...its delightfully dark...and moody
and I am a fan of that
This is very lovely - a little peek across the lake. Bet you wish that you could have stayed longer.
Dark and moody, but still inviting... a fabulous image, like the different layers in the image.
Thank you so much for the postcard. It was a very pleasant surprise! All the more as this is my fav. lighthouse in Germany.
Beautiful shot, love it
A very atmospheric image, you've conveyed the dark and brooding nature of the place perfectly
love the mood
Splendid composition Bill.
