Such a strong and balanced juxtaposition of shapes, nevermind the rust and shadow..... and, of course, the mystery of 'smudger'. Well spotted and very well composed, Bill.

Brilliant image Bill, the Rust has been captured perfectly, the shadow, an added bonus. Love the comp' and the way the Cross is leaning to the edge of the image.
And HEY! my final award for 2012 goes to you my friend.

All this nasty wet weather we've had this year should have helped encourage more of this reddish-brown stuff to materialise! Wink A fine and detailed capture, Bill Smile
A Very Happy New Year to you too! Smile
All the best,
Trev Smile

Good to know that some people actually care about the old and abandoned, whether living or not.

Orange amid rust - very fitting to put put 2012 to rest with this image. I'm glad the shadow was there, it makes it.

I was slightly reminded of a visit to the local cemetery in Fyllingsdalen - I lost a dear friend last year. His gravestone was already up, dying flowers covering the ground above it. The next row of grave markers had been placed, awaiting new occupants. What struck me was that the markers were of wood, spray painted with gory red dripping paint - I've never been able to process them so they look right though - it just struck me as so final in a very graphic way.

Have a great New Year's Eve Bill - thanks for 2012, and see you on the other side of it Smile
