This is the context to yesterday's upload, Second Attempt. I reckon it deserves a billing all of its own. Part of the fašade of an apartment block in Aubagne, southern France, seen from about second-floor level across the street.

There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

I find myself peering closely at this one - wanting to see what's hidden behind the facade. (I guess I'm just one of life's a nosey neighbours.)
The shot itself is wonderful. Well balanced, colourful and sharp.

Wonderful composition Bill; it almost looks like a montage; each panel with its own story.

I suppose they eat a lot of grilled fish. An extremely interesting bit of architecture and observation Bill. Well framed and put together. Excellent.

Interesting in what it shows and what it hides. Extremely well photographed.

Well spotted Bill. At first glance, I thought it was several images, very well thought out shot, nicely composed.

Superb study Bill, love the sense of order to the shot and all the little bits of detail on the individual balconies. It's a bit like a ready-made montage which is perhaps why I find it so appealing. Anyway, my pic of the week so it gets my gong.

But there is no window cleaner Bill !!
I thought it was a montage from the thumb.A good selection of shapes and patterns here. Each little ''box'', a piccy in its own right.
Excellent take.
Mick.

A modern day's Dolls House, nice framing and detail. People leave so much crapout like that, it's obvious they don't care what others see.

There's a short cartoon called, I think, Flat Life where there are little characters acting out their lives in little boxes like these for all the world to see, and how their actions affect their neighbours. This great shot reminded me of that. It makes you wonder who really lives there and what they do.

Cracking shot Bill for all of the above reasons. What a strange patterned material (the metal fencing) to choose/use. At least it gives photographers like yourself an eyecatching image. Looks like it had a 'metallic' finish and is now rusty? Maybe Mike might be interested!

"Rear Window"?
Makes you wonder what's going on inside. I love its abstract feel and the patterns of the grilles, some a little broken here and there.

This has a dolls house feel to it. I can imagine a child placing various items and objects on each balcony......................and now I've just read Dougie's comment I can see someone else had that thought too.
