You've nailed the point of focus well here Bill, that colour on the nail?

I think it must be a brass or copper nail, Dougie; Moira says it looks like copper oxide a.k.a. verdigris.

I thoroughly agree. I also agree with you about your response to Jeff's remark on Picasso, and thank you for the comment.

Great focus Bill but I wonder if there is not just a tad too much out of focus rope.

It is probably brass or copper right enough Bill.
Some ships had part of their wooden hulls clad in copper sheeting
to stop it being fouled with seaweed and such and to gain extra speed.
It also prevented the sea equvilant of woodworm,(whose name escapes me)
from settling in.
Mick.

Like the square crop on this Bill and as others have said .. the DoF!
Really like the sharpness and colour of the nail - just love it! Smile

There's a wealth of colour and texture here and the DOF is spot on.

There is something very artistic about this. A real pleasure to view.
My only suggestion would be to clone out the white on the lower left of the frame, leaving a nice negative space on the entire left side.

You've got this nailed, Bill! Wink A very well seen shot, and like the shallow depth of field picking out both the nail and part of the rope Smile

Now those are some great colours on the nail, Bill.

Well seen and well placed in the image. I like the sort of diagonal going on from lower right to top left.

is it a brass nail or did you do some clever trick to convert red rust to green?
got it, it is biologic- dramatic rust.
