Two observations made during a damp walk into our little town a couple of weeks ago. The double yellow lines forbid parking, 24/7 and 7/7 in modern terminology, yet nobody takes any notice of them.
Recently I enquired of one of the local custodians of the parking laws why he was ignoring a car parked on a bus stop so that its driver could queue for an ATM, forcing people with disabilities to struggle onto the road as we watched to climb up into the bus rather than walk straight off the pavement; he told me that as the lines were in a bad state of repair no charge would stick in court. The lines in the town centre have now been repainted; they continue to be ignored and my cheery informant is now nowhere to be seen....

Two finely observed shots. Love the leaves in there.
Perhaps you might have entitled these 'sleeping policeman'. The only thing worse than police brutality is police indifference...

There seems to be an odd form of communication between the white form and red leaf in V2, a great minimalist landscape!!

I like both versions Bill but my natural inclination always seems to go for the portrait frame. Love the contrasting colours and they are in layers. Very imaginative.

Thats strange Bill. They are the samr colour as the stripes up my back.
More good observation from you and the goldenbronze/yellow leaf is a bonus.

Thank you, everybody.
Richard, if you enlarge the overhead photograph in the Geodata and move a hundred yards to the East you will see a maroon Renault Scenic that has taken up almost permanent residence on the double yellows....

The double yellow lines are not a problem in Edinburgh Bill.
No roads you see. They are all being dug up for these sodden trams !!! Well detailed captures here. And I notice the other problem we have on the roads and pavements.Chewing gum !! There are a few pavements here where you cannot see them for the stuff !!

Superb abstracts, I love V1, strong layers of colour and horizontal lines. The leaf just finishes it off beautifully, somewhat reminiscent of Rende's leaf series.
