Composition, subject and textures are great but it comes over as a bit dark and flat on my monitor. I think there is a lot more that can be had from this image given a little work. (I know, I tried).

Love the blue and the rust. What is it about old boats that capture our hearts! Wish there were more old boats to photograph here in the US but a find like this would be rare. Patti Smile

The Vital Spark has gone from this old hulk and I'm sure would more than a cup of Sunny Jim's tea to revive it.

What stormy seas and tidal races has this wee fishing boat fought and beaten in it's long life off the coast of our wonderful United Kingdom.

The rather sombre treatment works so well with the character of this decaying old timber vessel, Bill: yet you have recorded excellent tones, textures and details in the various parts.

I think we can safely say she has seen better times, Bill.
The way she is leaning over adds to the feeling of being tired and worn out, can't stand any more. The old carcass is no longer willing even though the hear - engine - may still beat.

Excellent shot Bill - I find it sad to see such a decline there - might have been the boat I used to go out on

But I have to agree with Lynne about the darkness. Maybe a bit of fill flash in software?

Some wonderful angles to this, Bill - and I can see a very strong mono image in the making.

PS - see my comments in response to your and Moira's comments on my "Forth Bridge" upload. I hope you both don't think me too much of a fakir ........ Wink

Regards.
