Good details and tones but not for me not sure what is the real subject of the image, as the eyes go to the forks.
Just my view Doug

Nice still-life Doug. If it was mine I'd be tempted to crop some off at the top to just above the large apple at the left.

all the best

Love the crinkles in the hessian. Richard's comment is interesting, the forks are the subject for me and I'd be looking for a square crop (a bit off the bottom, a bit more off the top). But that's how I see things.
And guess what I'm drinking at this precise moment...

Canny Moira has some red left over Sad
Beautifully presented bowl of my favourite apples and some gorgeous pewter tones. I'll leave the composition to others Wink

Version 3 Doug, works a lot better for me, you are now focused more on the tree bounty.

V.3 works best for me, too, Doug, and what wonderful old forks, they certainly drew my attention more than the apples Smile Carol

Thanks for the pm - yes V3 works best for me. I was actually imagining a more severe crop at the top, to just below the highlights on the dish around the top of the central apple. But V3 will do nicely.
