I think I'm going to give up doing still life under artificial light. Having been so pleased with the natural light shots I did at the weekend, I'm totally dissatisfied with the results today - or maybe I'm just having a duff evening Smile

I've decided to upload this anyway but fear I might change my mind and take it down again - who knows.......

It has that old master look about it, I like it too especially that open artichoke.

Your work continues to inspire and evolve Alison.

Not a lot wrong with this Ali......But I know what you mean about light, I do a lot of my macro stuff under artificial light because of my disability more than anything. But nothing quite compares with natural light even when shooting insects and such like......

This is just excellent though, I love the rich textures which gives the image a rich sense of grubbiness, don't know if that's what you were trying to achieve, but it certainly works for me......

I have to agree that the natural light works better giving more "life" to the still life. That being said, however, this is nothing to sneeze at. You have a great ability to set these up in a very pleasing manner.

Oops - sorry I'm late returning - thank you all. It's interesting to see that apparently it's not as duff as I thought it was Smile

I must check my veg supplies in the hope that there's some decent light at the weekend and I can play some more. I somehow think the Artichoke will be well knackered by Saturday, as will the mushrooms, but the rest should be ok, ie. I have plenty of garlic, red onions, tomatoes......
