I love it. I wish more people would just go with the light that's available instead of flashing and bouncing everything. I do prefer the original shot - it's just more atmospheric. Definately a location worth returning to so I look forward to seeing what you get next time Smile

Took me a while to get here but I'm glad I made it. Stunning just about covers it I think. It's a word that you see a lot in the gallery but in this case it really does apply. This is a true work of art and I am in awe Smile

I can't add anything to what Geraint has said but I will say that I agree with every point he's made if that's any help Smile

I wouldn't normally comment on a landscape photo but since I'm in this discussion group thingy I must say that I do like this one. The processing is nicely restrained and the composition is simple and effective. The lighting is subtle and calming and that contrasts with the slight drama of the foreground. I would find it impossible not to put a figure in this Smile

Hmmm...at first I thought the posts on the left were essential to the composition but now I think I'd prefer the shot without them.

Montage II

Montage II by Geraint

I can't really add anything to what's been said but I do love this kind of montage, especially when, as here, it collects the more candid moments from a shoot Smile

I kinda like the outfit/location contrast because it's different although I think I'd prefer a horizontal format that gave us more of the background thereby creating a figure-in-landscape shot. The pose though...hmmm...doolittle beat me to it. I think you could maybe get away with it if her hands had been placed elsewhere - not sure where but it's always worth keeping models moving and shooting as many frames as possible Smile

Given that you had no choice with regards pov I think I'd be tempted to try a few slight twists and crops to create graphically strong...abstracts and see if anything grabs you. I'm having an abstract day today - I'm seeing them everywhere Smile

TAXI RANK

TAXI RANK by NEWMANP

I like the angle, the colours, the distribution of colours that contributes to the overall composition. I'm struggling slightly for a strong point of focus since the people are kind of small but I find this a pleasing enough image in an almost abstract way.

This is a well-balanced composition and for me the left to right of V1 works better. I especially like the low point of view that adds to the air of confidence. I'm less bothered by some of the issues raised than by the effect of lightening the jacket which has brought a speckled pattern that does not look like the fabric itself - i.e. it's not detail brought from the shadows but, I suspect, digital noise maybe?

I have to say this is one of the best portraits of Wes that I've seen Smile
