Pontypridd, all stringed up and festive; yet when I nabbed this photo it felt about as festive as, erm... something that's the opposite of festive... grabbed this shot in-between heavy rain showers; a few seconds window before the rain started hitting the lens again....

I'd say it's best viewed large, but i guess if you like sitting with your face next to the monitor, then it will be counter-productive... with that said, large image is optional...

Nice image... but why aren't you playing around with your torches? I really like your work. I tried to do something similar myself recently but wasn't very successful. It's seems incredibly difficult to get right!

Thanks Jonathan Grin

Just to set the balance, I had a new 'type of' torch delivered today... just need to customise it tonight and venture out over the next few nights with it and my bag-o-torches Grin

Never seen Ponty look so festive. Love the composition and clarity

There's a lot that's wrong with this shot. The angle's not quite enough to be "quirky", the lens distortion at the edge makes the car look wrong, possibly even the converging verticals, but put them together, & you have a superb shot.

Well worth waiting for a window in the rain. The reflections on the wet cobbles are greatm & the exposure's perfect. But then, with your experience in painting with light, I'm sure the exposure was never going to be a problem.

Actually, I was thinking it's nice to see you doing something different for a change. Much as I like your light paintings, your other work is excellent too.

Bodiewil, despite the lights, I still didn't get the festive 'feel' to Ponty. Despite the place not being too far away from me, it always seems to change every time I visit

Oll1e, cheers amigo.

Davey, I'm a big fan of exaggerated angles and a big fan of wide lenses; as you've picked out, this shot will never be perfectly linear unless I make editing adjustments, which only works if I am telling a different visual story. I'm glad you like the pic dude, and especially thankful for your previous support on my light work Smile Cheers amigo Smile
