The 1st one, because the guy on the right has just pulled the bird.

None are particularly strong, so it's a matter of which is less weak.

V1 is just a record of a performance in the middle of a street. The guys in yellow draw the eye from the performers which are tending to blend with the background. A lower viewpoint would help somewhat in terms of separation, and moving furhter back but using a longer focal length. Even at f/4 and 24 mm the background is distinct.

In V2 the appeal lies in the contrast between the two expressions, though the attention lies in the expression of the girl on the left. The faces are not sharp which reduces the strength of the image. A strong image needs sharp eyes here, so you need to be critical with your focussing, and critical with your results.

V3 is a bolder composition but it looks more like some musicians walking past than walking along performing. Difficult when there are several people in the shot but waiting fro a moment when there is more involvement of the players with the music would result in a more engaging image.

Back to too much going on, Ian. Your last set were much better. V1, just too much. V2, not technically very sharp or well exposed and two split subjects.

V3, reasonable, but a bit disjointed.

For me, your efforts where you get in close and keep the background to a minimum are much better. Also, careful control of your processing and more careful choice when you use the more dramatic versions.

Paul

The girl with the tambourine(?) in V3 would make a very attractive study if you could remove the violin and the cellist. I like the way she is concentrating on her instrument and looking quite pleased with the results!
