Hi, I can see the cigarette butt prominent and not focused so I would place the camera in front of it to avoid it. An empty soft drink can at some form (intact ot squashed) would be more creative. If I had a cable release I would have pressed the shutter when a human or even a dog, was closer and I think that would make it more interesting. It's good it's shot in black and white, it gives a special feeling and avoids colour distraction.
Nice gritty feel and I like the low POV. I also like the post processing - the band to the sky in the top left corner adds to this nicely. My only quibble - and its slight - is that the composition to weighted to the left hand side of the frame. I'm not keen on the cigarette but, but I can see its purpose. However I would have preferred this to be positioned on the right hand side of the frame creating a diagonal line of tension between in and the figure in the distance. The diagonal would sere to carry the viewer through the scene - taking in all that gritty urban splendour. Another way of achieving this in this image is to perhaps crop the image in to a postbox view from just above the cig. This allows the line of shops to become the leading line and even a rough triangle to be formed between this line, the person, and the line of grout nearest the edge of the frame. Please see the mods.
Remember - this is just an opinion. I'd have been happy to have taken it.
Regards,
Adam
Very much in your distinctive style. For me a successful image. I like Adam's crop. Ian
