The title should be lavender twilight really, possibly explaining why the lavender buds look very blue. Another reason could be that this shot was taken about a month before the Lavender was in full bloom and colour.
A bit more processing than I would normally do on this one. Two separate exposures were combined in PSE6 and then further adjustments made to levels and curves. C&C will be appreciated and welcomed
Thanks for looking.
Derek

Have a feeling I know this location, possibly just near to the Otford to Eynsford road by the railway bridge ?

Like the composition with the foreground including the stems then leading gradually to the mass of blue in the background.

An alternative, which you may also have, would be a "portrait" format with just the lines of lavender excluding the fields on the left.

Thanks for the comments Jeff. This field is actually on the road from Shoreham village as you go through the back lanes and onto the main Otford - Eynesford road. About a mile further up the valley from the Field I think you are referring to. I have a couple of shots of those in my portfolio as well.

I have some unprocessed portrait shots and as compositions they do work very well. I will possibly upload one in the next few days.
Thanks again.

That really is quite lovely Derek, I love the colour of the lavender and the composition. I would really like to see this, maybe arrange a mini shoot there next year?

Large is a must, beautifully captured and processed image Derek. The composition, light and tones are great. I think the landscape format suits this scene better than portrait.

Iwas sure I had commented on this, I'm also sure I can smell the lavender. Nice colour and it goes all the way down into the plant, part of the reason for the merge I suppose.
I like the slope on the field, takes it away from the standard image we see from France, very flat fields.

Beautifully detailed image. Well composed and sharpe from front to back and the PS work is very well done as Eric Morecambe would have said, "you can't see the join".
