did a little mod, quite different to your original, went sepia, diffuse glow around the centre, high pass filter and added a border. not necessarily a spring image anymore. find the expanse of blue quite powerful so darkened the empty areas slightly.

like this a lot, a beautiful subject.

for my taste though the right arm is very strong in the frame, taking up approx 25% of the shot, done a mod to remove some of that and also to put a little light in the right side of her face as i just see it as slightly too dark.

Love the shot, only thing for me is i find the contrast a little too much, could be a personal thing, no else has mentioned it. find it a little hard to look at, the bright bits seem to drag my eye round and appear burnt out????

i am million miles from good at this stuff though.

hi david, i have uploded a mod with ho i think you could use the shot.

i added a vignette first as this covers the fact that the sky isn't great and there are some distractions around the car,

then turned monochrome to hopefully give a moody feel, i always think that if the light isnt amazing then can get away with a bit more in mono.

then used curves to give some contrast, picked out a few highlights manually, the wheel trims, the tree reflection, the number plate and darkened a couple of areas, then sharpened.

hope its ok.

Hi, i cant add much to the experts above but i can't help wondering if the other things you mention, the stream, the ruin, the fallen tree might have been able to be included in the shot to add a bit more interest to it?????

not a lot in the notes so am not sure what you are trying to show us with this shot. then again i am new to this and possibly just missing the point.

i too like this shot, agree about the burnt out area too. if it isnt possible to reshoot would it possible (size restriction allowing) to crop over the soldiers head?

it keeps a lot of the architecture in shot but loses the white patch at the end of the building, you may completely disagree but hopefully this is useful.

As Dricherby says above, resharpen after resizing any images for upload, i forget almost every time :-( , one day i'll remember.

I agree with heids you have definitely captured nice bright colour here.

However i feel that because there are so many flower heads i aren't quite sue which one i am looking at and find my eye dragged around the picture, probably made worse by the very point of the picture, the bright colours!

Maybe it would have been good select just one of the flowers that wasn't being intruded by any other and get the focus just on that and show some real detail. with the complentary green background keeping the eye on the single subject.

HI, For me there is way too much sky, if it had been full of menacing clouds then it would have ok but as it is i don't think it adds much to the image. I have uploaded a mod with it cropped down a bit so the focus is on the pleasant scene you captured.

Seems to have a real pink cast to it, not sure if you applied that as you haven't given much info but i would have liked to see the snow slghtly whiter, unless it actually was this colour in which case i apologise..

Think removing the colour cast helps a lot, i would add that possibly if you could have used a small f-stop for greater dof the first couple of posts may have been sharper. the posts in the distance were never going to be totally sharp but that wouldn't have been noticable.

Hi, agree with eviscera about the crop, as an additional suggestion after making the crop how about flipping the image horizontally so the robin is in the bottom right corner. In the current mod i feel a little uncomfortable with the bird so close to the left hand corner. just seems better on the right......

Like the idea of this picture, i agree with the colour pop comments left by "Coast".

The only thing i would add is that just above the top bobble there is something quite bright which is slightly distracting, possibly this area could be toned down slightly so focus stays on the hair.
