it was a windy but sunny afternoon on a poor mountain.
I like the color of sky and grass![]()

I find this shot intriguing Zach but a little confusing at the same time. What was in your mind when you took the shot? Part of me thinks you might have been going for a photo reportage sort of shot where you want to illustrate the poverty of the area. The whole assembly of the poles looks exceedingly precarious and dangerous. But for this kind of shot to work well it needs to tell more of a story or a clearer story, so perhaps I would expect people or maybe the place where the lines connect to.
On the other hand you mention you like the grass and sky so maybe you see it as more of a landscape shot and the poles are more incidental. For it to work as a landscape though it needs more content. Where do the poles go? A line of them going over the edge of the grass and down in the direction of the mountain in the background might give you a better composition. It's difficult for me to tell what would work without being there.
So it falls between two stools for me. Is it social comment or general landscape?
I have uploaded a mod for you where I have increased the contrast by about 20% to give more pep to the grass and sky. I used a layer amsk to avoid applying the increased contrast to the poles as otherwise they lose detail.
Hope this helps
Catherine
Would agree with the above
, yes on its own the sky and grass do look interesting, maybe a different view point would have carried more impact, for example if you moved to the right got a low point of view of the grass going up the slope with perhaps one of the poles to anchor the image. Of course this is pure guess work on my part and for all you know there wouldn't have been an opportunity to explore other options ![]()
Cheers and hope this helps ![]()

thanks for words all.
well, i am chinese and lives in north of China(sorry i english is not good enough). actually i even did not know why i took that photo, i just did it.
it looks very desolate in winter. I think i tried to explore something that i did not forcus on. Sorry i dont know what these poles used for![]()
Although i am chinese, i still think they are strang...I just felt when the blue sky, blond grass and the two black poles in my eyes, it was interesting, so i took that pic![]()
Thank you for uploading the mod,CathR.
again, thanks everyone![]()
I think you saw something here that hasn't translated via the camera. There is a loneliness about the image, but a need for some dramatic lighting and the composition of uprights and wires has no form.
Really could not improve what is here - it is an adequate technical recording of what the camera saw.
