An international photography competition with the theme 'places of worship' has had some really beautiful entries that are well worth a peruse.

Amazing captures of religious places in Japan, India and Slovenia are just a few of the images that have made the winner's gallery of an international photo competition run by Photocrowd.
From some of the most iconic religious buildings in the world, to lesser-known but still fascinatingly beautiful locations, the winning images are an eclectic mix of places of worship that show just how photogenic these buildings can be.
As well as the 15 images below, more winning entries can be viewed on the Photocrowd places of worship photo contest website. There's also plenty of other free photo challenges to take part in, including the 'Amusing Animals' photography competition we've teamed up with Photocrowd to sponsor. You can take a look at some of the entries the 'Amusing Animals' competition has received so far in our 9 funny animal photos feature posted earlier this month.
