Imagery captured by photojournalists, picture agencies, newspapers and magazines can be thought-provoking, emotionally charged and incredibly powerful, as the images entered into the World Press Photo of the Year competition demonstrate. Earlier this year, the results of the competition were announced and now, the complete results of the 2015 World Press Contest have been published in a book, available from 25 May 2015.
On the cover is an image (shown above) of Jon and Alex, a gay couple in Russia, captured by documentary photographer Mads Nissen who took the overall World Press Photo of the Year 2014 title. Inside the title is imagery of war, protests, the ebola crisis, memorable sporting moments and more.
18 of the images featured in the book can be seen below and for those interested in purchasing the title, it's priced at £16.95 and published by Thames & Hudson.
