Students only have until the end of February 2011 to submit their entries to The 2011 Fujifilm Student Awards.
The theme for this year’s Award is 'Senses' with students being briefed to capture an image that encapsulates at least one of the five senses - sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. All images must be taken on Fujifilm Professional film and submitted via www.fujifilmstudentawards.co.uk – entry is free and is open to UK students only. Students can enter as many photographs as they wish.
In addition to being named Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year 2011 the winner will also be presented with £200 worth of Fujifilm, a trophy plus a professional quality portfolio by Genesis Imaging, together with a 20"x16" Clamshell Portfolio box. The printing will be supervised by Genesis Imaging's Creative Director, Mark Foxwell, who will also mentor the winner for a period of one year. The winner will also receive a PR package from the promoter of the awards, WPS Media.
Up to 30 Merit winner will receive 10 rolls of Fujicolor professional colour negative film. Each Merit winner will be asked to submit a print for final judging. The college or university that submits the most entries will win £200 worth of Fujifilm Professional film.
2011 marks the 26th anniversary of the competition, making it the longest running and most prestigious student photography awards in the UK. For further details and examples of previous winners, go to Fujifilm
