Only one specialist photobook production house in the UK offers Canon’s DreamLabo HD printing. Two years ago Norwich-based 2M Professional signed an exclusive deal to offer what is considered to be the world’s most advanced photographic reproduction. With a colour gamut beyond anything offered by silver-based processes, the HD quality is over eight times greater print quality than standard analogue. The Canon DreamLabo prints to 2400 dpi (dots per inch)
It is, however, an inkjet process with all the benefits of rapid dry handling and a projected archival life of over 300 years in the photobook format. 2M Professional offers a full range of books and albums with a wide choice of finishes and presentation, soft to hard back, as well as flyers or brochures. A large format Canon system colour-matched to the HD 11-ink system adds display printing, something not on the menu from the limited choice of overseas labs which have invested in the DreamLabo.
With a range of photographic and fine art paper surfaces, the HD Photobook can be tailored to suit wedding, portrait, portfolio and commercial uses. The software to design the complete book cover to cover is easy to install and use, with a minimal learning curve. Delivery is fast for UK photographers who are early adopters of this new generation of albums, assured by the experience of a company used to creating systems to cope with high volume photo printing and gifts.
