85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Sigma say this lens is the ultimate lens for portraits and more. The bokeh is said to be so precise that you can focus on the pupil of the subject's eye while blurring the eyelashes!

The lens has 14 elements in 12 groups and is an ideal choice for high-resolution cameras. The lens will retail for £1199.99.

Key Features:

A design that prioritizes optical performance—without compromise
Outstanding resolving power and minimized chromatic aberrations help make this the ultimate lens for portraits. To create a top-performing 85mm F1.4 lens, SIGMA leveraged its latest innovations in design and materials. The result is the ultimate lens for portraits. By taking chromatic aberrations to the absolute minimum, this lens offers performance that goes beyond, including incredibly sharp resolution and a beautiful bokeh effect.

Image quality perfect for ultra-high-megapixel digital cameras
Ultra-high-megapixel full-frame DSLRs offering 50-megapixel or higher resolution are now available, and nothing will bring out the performance potential of these cameras better than the fundamental performance of the lens. The SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art incorporates two elements made of SLD (Special Low Dispersion Glass) and one element with a high rate of anomalous partial dispersion and a high index of refraction. These features help ensure a clear image throughout the plane. The optical system also minimizes sagittal coma flare for outstanding image quality without streaking - even at wide-open
aperture.

SIGMA’s fifth large-diameter F1.4 lens for full-frame sensors.
Among its new product lines, this is the fifth large-diameter F1.4 lens SIGMA has introduced for cameras with full-frame sensors. SIGMA is the only lens manufacturer that covers 20-85mm at F1.4 brightness in its lineup. This latest lens reflects our experience with this specification and insistence on offering only the best.

The beautiful bokeh effect that only a large-diameter lens can offer

Elements made of SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and an optimized power distribution help minimize axial chromatic aberration. In the areas in front of and behind the point of focus, the optical system produces an attractive and natural bokeh effect by producing a smooth gradation of focus and minimizing streaking.

Newly designed HSM for nimble AF control
The newly designed Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) offers 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it offers exceptionally stable performance, and the updated AF algorithm helps ensure nimble autofocus performance. In addition, full-time manual focus override allows the lens to be switched to manual focus simply by rotating the focus ring—even during continuous AF. The user can quickly find the perfect focus without needing to touch the focus mode switch.

500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sports

Sigma 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM

The Sigma 500mm Sports lens is the new flagship of the sports lens line. It has enhanced dust and splash proof technologies, an enhanced Optical Stabiliser system and an AF function switch. Sigma say it sets a new standard for high performance telephoto lenses.

The lens will be available for £5999.99.

Key Features:

Outstanding functionality for challenging shoots.
Enhanced dust/splash-proof construction and available exclusive Protector
Designed for top performance in tough shooting conditions, the SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM | Sports features highly effective dust- and splash-proof construction. The front of the lens features a water- and oil-repellent coating that allows water to be wiped away easily and helps prevent oil from sticking to the surface. This feature is particularly useful when shooting in a drizzle or near ocean spray. The lens is compatible with the exclusive SIGMA Protector LPT-11 (sold separately), which effectively helps prevent damage to the lens during shooting and maintenance.

Magnesium alloy barrel
To help minimize the weight associated with a hyper telephoto lens, the lens barrel is made with a magnesium alloy. Both lightweight and tough, this alloy contributes to the outstanding maneuverability of SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM | Sports.

Carbon fiber hood
The lens hood is made of carbon fiber, which is both lightweight and strong. In fact, the entire lens is designed to be lightweight for outstanding performance in tough shooting conditions.

Tripod socket with 90° click stops
Since photographers often prefer to use a hyper-telephoto lens with a monopod or tripod, the lens features a large and extremely stable tripod socket. Antistatic nickel plating on the socket parts help enhance the quality and durability of the 90° click stops, which make it easy to switch between vertical and horizontal shooting positions. The click position may be canceled by turning off the “de-clicking” switch. The lens also comes equipped with a dedicated strap for the tripod socket, making it easy to carry equipment without undue stress on the camera mount.

Nikon electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism included
The lens for the Nikon camera includes the electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism and is able to receive the appropriate signals from the camera body. This feature ensures precision diaphragm control and stable Auto Exposure (AE) performance during continuous shooting.

Top-level optical performance
The lens incorporates two FLD and one SLD glass elements, while the optimized power distribution helps minimize spherical aberration and axial chromatic aberration. The optical system also effectively minimizes transverse chromatic aberration, which can affect the edges of the shots taken in the telephoto range. In addition, image quality remains exceptional when the lens is used with a SIGMA Tele Converter (sold separately).

OS system with acceleration sensor and new Intelligent OS algorithm
The Optical Stabilizer (OS) system features an acceleration sensor to deliver even more precise performance and up to approximately four stops of stabilization.

Two OS modes are available:
Mode 1 for general photography and Mode 2 for motor sports and other applications requiring panning. In Mode 2, the acceleration sensor teams up with the Intelligent OS and its updated stabilization algorithm to deliver effective stabilization while you move the camera horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—regardless of the position of the lens. This feature helps ensure effective panning and outstanding capture of moving subjects.

AF function switch with preset AF modes
The AF function switch allows you to set your own autofocus specification. The lens can remember the focus position of your choice or turn off AF until it is needed.

Manual override incorporated to make two full-time manual modes switchable
In addition to AF/MF, MO (Manual Override) is incorporated as one of the options of the focus mode switch. By setting it to the MO position, it switches to manual focus by rotating the focus ring even during continuous AF. With AF position, standard full-time manual focus is available. Using the optional SIGMA USB DOCK, it is possible to adjust the MO position’s sensitivity to switch to manual focus.

Quieter and Faster “Optimized AF”
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures high speed and quiet AF. With the further enhanced AF algorithm compared to previous models, continuous AF (AF-C) improves the focusing efficiency.

12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art

Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM

This wide angle zoom lens is a third generation lens offering outstanding image quality from center to edges with next to no distortion. The lens utilises advanced materials such as low dispersion glass. It will retail for £1649.99.

Key Features:

The ultra-wide-angle zoom pioneer, SIGMA launched its first ultra-wide-angle zoom in 1979: the SIGMA ZOOM GAMMA 21-35mm F3.5-4. Since then, we have continued to develop ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses, always including our most advanced technologies. In 2003, we introduced the SIGMA 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG, the world’s first ultra-wide-angle zoom for DSLRs with full-frame sensors. In 2011, we offered the updated and upgraded version of that lens, the SIGMA 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM. This lens offered an angle of view even wider than that of human vision, allowing users to enjoy the ultra-wide-angle range with incredible perspective. Now, the 3rd-generation SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art continues this tradition with image quality and ease of use both taken to another level.

Outstanding image quality - from center to edges
When it comes to ultra-wide-angle lenses, photographers require outstanding image quality from the center of the image to the edges without any distortion. Such performance is particularly valuable in architectural photography. The new SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art leverages SIGMA’s accumulated expertise in the processing and manufacture of aspherical lenses and incorporates multiple aspherical lenses produced with precision glass molding. The lens also features lens elements made with FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass, which is equivalent to fluorite in performance, and an optimized power distribution. Together, these features help minimize distortion, transverse chromatic aberration, and coma flare. As a result, image quality is outstanding across the image, all the way to the edges.

Featuring an 80mm aspherical lens - the largest in this lens class

The SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art features ⌀80mm large-diameter molded glass aspherical lens—the largest such element in this class of lens. This lens is highly effective in minimizing distortion, spherical aberration, and coma flare.

f/4 brightness throughout the zoom range
With f/4 throughout the zoom range, this lens is one stop brighter than conventional lenses. Photographers can now use a higher shutter speed that will crisply capture leaves fluttering in the breeze and other quick-moving subjects. A constant aperture during zooming also makes this lens exceptionally easy to use.

Minimum focusing distance of 24cm*
Leveraging the incredibly broad perspective of an ultra-wide-angle lens, photographers can compose close-up shots with impressively expansive backgrounds.

Newly designed HSM for nimble AF control
The newly designed Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) is large, offers 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it offers exceptionally stable performance.

Mount with dust- and splash-proof construction
The lens mount incorporates rubber sealing to protect the mount from dust and water drops. The front and rear lenses feature a water- and oil-repellent coating that is particularly useful when shooting in a drizzle, near ocean spray, and in a wide variety of other conditions.
