Photography can be an expensive hobby but camera hacks are a way you can save a penny or two when you're wanting to expand your photography kit.

A camera / photography hack is, basically, a DIY method for creating various tools and accessories you can use to improve your photography. There are loads out there, including these 6 hacks we shared last year, and Sheldon Evans over on Youtube has added to the DIY checklist with 5 camera hacks he presents to the world in just 1 minute.

In the tutorial, Sheldon creates a softbox from a plastic bag, a video slider from a towel, 'fake' bokeh for macro images with an image on a laptop screen, lens flare with a CD and the look of film burn with a lit match.

The hacks are cool, quick and fun and if you do try any of them out, please do share your images with us in the comments below.

Smartphoneographers should check out our '4 Fun Smartphone Photography Hacks' feature for tips on how you can save money and still shoot images with a little creative twist.
