Compact Cameras

The Cyber-shot P150 is the first Sony compact camera to deliver 7.2 effective Megapixels, thanks to an enhanced Super HAD CCD, packaged in an amazingly slim aluminium body (108mm x 51.5mm x 26.6 mm). That’s not all; the Cyber-shot P150 also boasts a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 3x optical zoom. This unique zoom, specially equipped with a pop-up mechanism to keep the camera compact, is guaranteed to provide stunning pictures thanks to the incredible lens quality and the more than 100-years heritage that Carl Zeiss possesses in optical design.

With the Cyber-shot P150 you can forget about battery concerns, as the latest stamina technology means that you can shoot up to 320 high quality images* on one charge. And the enhancements don't stop there .The power at the heart of the P150 is the unique Sony Real Imaging Processor. With this driving the action behind the scenes you can be sure that your colours will turn out richer, your images will be clearer and you’ll achieve better picture quality all round. It also makes the best use of the battery, boosting performance by an incredible 90 percent over previous models. What’s more, the Sony Real Imaging Processor also significantly speeds up the camera operation, so you’re much less likely to miss the action.

Although it fits into the palm of your hand, the Cyber-shot P150 offers a sizeable 1.8-inch LCD, set flush into the aluminium body for efficient use of space. Such attention to detail is mirrored in the internal design of the camera, which features precision engineering and a highly compact optical path. Sony has provided extra connectivity for the Cyber-shot P150 with an optional powered cradle, the Cyber-shot station. This allows you to dock the camera and connect to a PC, printer or AV device, using a remote control to view your images on TV, while the camera battery charges simultaneously. The camera also offers all the onboard connectivity you’ll need for everyday operation, including support for Sony Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and the enhanced PictBridge facility for printing your photos directly to a compatible printer without the need for a PC.

Forget about worrying if the light is right; just choose one of nine Scene Selection modes to produce a perfect picture in any conditions. The nine Scene Selection modes offered can handle such environments as candle light, snow scenes, fireworks and beach, or can be used for occasions demanding a high speed shutter or a ‘soft snap’ effect. As well as Auto Exposure and Programmed Auto Exposure, the camera also features a simple Manual Exposure mode.. And it’s not just pictures. The Cyber-shot P150 can also offers high-resolution video using MPEG Movie VX Fine (480 x 460, 30 frames per second) when used with optional Memory Stick PRO storage, or the more than adequate MPEG Movie VX Standard when equipped with the supplied Memory Stick. These movies can be played back full screen on a TV with sound. Truly a multi-talented camera!

About the Real Imaging Processor and STAMINA
Designed by Sony, the Real Imaging Processor sets the Cyber-shot P150 apart from other compact cameras in its class. This specially engineered chip delivers many enhancements including better colour reproduction and an improved signal to noise ratio, resulting in dramatically improved picture quality. Providing a faster start-up time as well as a quicker shutter operation (due to reduced shutter lag and shutter interval) the Sony chip also makes it possible to capture a burst of nine high quality shots at high speed.
