Are you looking for some ideas on what interesting and fun items you can photograph when the weather's not playing ball? Well have a look at these seven shots taken by ePHOTOzine member David Pritchard as part of his 365-day road test of the Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD lens.

Shot From Day 288: Invasion

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Lego

David said: "Like many people out there, I have pretty strong memories of the artwork that accompanied Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds on vinyl (although I turned up a few years after the album did). With our lego village complete, I couldn’t resist the urge to make this little tribute!"

Shot Taken From Day 247: Don't Look Back!

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Lego

Carrying on the 'ode to favourite films' theme, David took the above shot on a rainy day. The "boulder" is actually represented here by a piece of ornamental pot pourri. David used a +3 dioptre to get in a bit closer to his subject.

Shot Taken From Day 204: Da-dum...Da-dum...

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Shark

A clever shot which uses several serrated knives to create waves for the 'shark' to be placed in!

Shot Taken From Day 99: Drinking Like A Fish...

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Corkscrew

'Fun' doesn't have to be something you set up and create, you can capture it in objects which are, just simply, fun items. David set the White Balance manually for this shot to give it its blue tone and he used the ripples in his upholstery as a backdrop to enhance the mood. The shot was manually focused and no filters were used.

Shot Taken From Day 81: Tom quit peeping the day Anne Widdecombe moved in next door…

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Portrait

A fun shot that makes use of some props (make that “toys”) David found when clearing out his parents’ loft recently.

Shot Taken From Day 75: Hell’s Kitchen

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: Kitchen

David was planning on creating a simple pan of soup when he decided one of the carrots looked like a small person and by adding just a few props, this amusing still life was created.

Shot Taken From Day 70: Capped Teeth

'Fun' Photography Shots With The Tamron 18-270mm PZD Lens: 'Teeth'

Another outing for the Tamron/ close-up dioptre combo with household items. Can you guess what it is?

Superb shots, all of them. Really interesting what one can achieve photographing day-to-day objects in a context, natural or made-up. Well done!
