Photographer David Thorpe talks us through using natural light for portrait shoots.
| Portraits and People
Photographer David Thorpe, whose lens and camera review videos you may have previously watched on ePHOTOzine, is a big fan of natural light portraits and as a result, he's put a video tutorial together all about capturing people pictures in daylight.
David focuses on classical portraiture, mainly headshots or close-ups, which are designed to showcase the sitter in their best light. David also explains how the relationship between the photographer and subject is, in the end, what makes the photograph.
Enjoy joy the tutorial, it's around 15 minutes long, and do take a look at ePHOTOzine's technique section for more advice on shooting captivating portraits. We also have several interesting features all about portrait photography that are well worth checking out, including a guide to some of the best portrait photography books currently available.
