Some clever computer scientists in Germany have used AI to improve the quality of images.
| Industry NewsUp until now, there's not been a way for photographers to turn a low-resolution image into a, more usable, higher resolution but scientists in Germany may have found a way to actually make this a possibility.
The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems has released a paper which explains how they have created an algorithm which uses AI to create higher resolution versions of low-resolution images.
According to the researchers, the technology could one day be used to turn old films into 4k, restore photographs and it will also improve object detection which is used in applications such as Google's image search and even for detecting pedestrians in self-driving cars.
To learn more of the details of the new tool, have a read of the paper and take a look at the Digital Trends website.
Other algorithms and systems scientists have created include AI which can retouch photos before capture and one that removes reflections from images.

Quote:Wow, you now only need a small sensor
Just use the library shot
Quote:I hate to be pedantic , you can't have a pedestrian in a car they are either a driver or a passenger !!
I'm not sure whether you're joking or not...
