Acme Made The Bowler in Bags, Cases and Straps

Value For Money

The Bowler, by Acme Made, is designed for everyday use for those who wish to put a stylish edge to their photographic accessories.

Acme Made Bowler Bag Features

It's sized to fit most DSLR cameras and kits, this bag boasts a stylish and fun design reminiscent of classic bowling ball cases. Quilted tricot lining allows cameras to slide easily in and out while providing superior protection. The dual tapered handles lay comfortably in the hand and has hidden side pockets which offer storage for memory cards, cleaning cloth, and other necessities. A dual-zippered top-flap opening provides a quick and easy way to open and close the bag. There is ample room for a Pentax K-7 and kit lens, which is larger than most entry level DSLRs, as shown below.

Acme Made Bowler Bag Handling

The bag is lightweight and with its dual zipper it's easy to open, making it quick access to your camera. The use of Velcro on the opening flap and inside, adds a little bit of extra support and security.

The side pockets are small and flat but you could quite easily fit in camera cards, cloths and perhaps a couple of batteries but nothing too bulky. There is a a small rope cord attached inside the side pockets which can be used to attach a shoulder strap if you wanted to add one, although a shoulder strap is not provided.

Acme Made Bowler Bag Performance

When the camera is in the bag, it feels very safe and secure. The quilted lining adds an extra support and should protect both lenses and screens. However, with no shoulder strap it can be a little tricky to open with just one hand especially if there's no surface underneath to balance it on.

Value for Money

The camera bag is available from £22.50, which is reasonable for a cleverly designed, stylish bag that stands out from the crowd, although due to the size you can't fit a huge amount in the bag. For more options have a look at our complete guide to bags.

Acme Made Bowler Bag Verdict

The bag does exactly what it's designed for. It carries your camera, the bare essential kit, stands out, and adds an element of fun at the same time. The main problem is that its not practical for long trips, shoots or trekking. But if you're happy with making a statement and can manage with just the minimum essentials then its ideal.
