A company whose product once launched on Kickstarter is now available through online retailer WEX.
| Portable Flash and LightingAdaptalux, which just a couple of years ago launched over on Kickstarter, now has a lighting kit listed with UK online photographic retailer WEX.
Designed for macro and close-up photography, the Adaptalux Lighting Studio features five LED lights on flexible arms so photographers can precisely control light on very small subjects. Once twisted in place, the flexi arms remain in position and coloured filters, as well as light shapers, can be used to control the light.
The Studio can be carried on-camera with a cold shoe adaptor and it has a built-in rechargeable NIMH battery pack. Units can also be placed around any subject, free standing on their own support and the light output is controlled wirelessly by a smartphone app.
Unlike macro flash, the system is ideal for video and its heat-free light can be used with live specimens safely. It’s also ideal for plants and flowers, jewellery, electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, medical and other subjects, where techniques have been limited in the past by the need to keep hot-running lights at a distance.
A Starter Pack is available now for £182.99 or there's a comprehensive Combo Pack kit available for £269.99. Both are also customisable so photographers can choose their own filter colours.
Visit the Adaptalux website for more information on the company and their journey to success.
