If you have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, you might want to be a little bit more vigilant with what emails you receive, and respond to, as Adobe has reported a security issue.
According to Mashable UK, security researcher Bob Diachenko and company Comparitech discovered that a database containing user information was accessible to the public via a web browser.
The information on display didn't show any passwords or financial information but it did list email addresses as well as details on when accounts were created, products subscribed to, subscription/payment status, time of the last login, member IDs and what local timezone information.
In response to the security breach, Adobe has said: "At Adobe, we believe transparency with our customers is important. As such, we wanted to share a security update. Late last week, Adobe became aware of a vulnerability related to work on one of our prototype environments. We promptly shut down the misconfigured environment, addressing the vulnerability."
Adobe Creative Cloud products include popular photo editing software such as Photoshop and RAW photo editor/photo organisation tool Lightroom.
According to Comparitech, as soon as Adobe were aware of the problem they addressed it immediately. Adobe has also said that they will continue to review their development processes to help prevent a similar issue occurring again.
It's not clear how long the database was accessible for or if any unauthorised access occurred so it's worth being extra vigilant for phishing emails claiming to be Adobe.
