Photoshop Elements 2019

Quick Verdict

After reviewing the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements we are very happy to say that it's still an excellent choice for those looking for basic photo editing software that's simple to use, offers guidance and automated tools for creating impressive results.

Are the improvements groundbreaking? Well, 'no' is the answer to that question but they don't feel like add-ons for the sake of putting something new into the software either.

We 'Highly Recommended' the previous version of Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 still deserves the 4.5 stars accolade.

+ Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Guided Edits are great
  • Plenty of automated features
  • Quick to install and use
  • Price

- Cons

  • Some of the automated effects won't be to everyone's liking

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 is now available and with it comes, speed improvements, new guided edits and even more automation so even those who are new to photo editing can easily get started.

Unlike Adobe's other photography-related products, Photoshop Elements remains subscription-free and the new version can be purchased for £86.56 (or you can upgrade to the latest release for £70.91).

To see how well the new version performs, we're putting the new features that are built into the software to the test.

If you do want a more lengthy overview of what Photoshop Elements is, have a look at our previous reviews (Elements 14 & Elements 15) which go into the overall workings of the consumer-based photo editing software in much more detail (it's not actually changed that much so we'd just be repeating ourselves).

You have as a con "Some of the automated effects won't be to everyone's liking " - well no one is forced to use them so it's not really a 'con' is it ? In full photoshop (which I use) there are normally at least 3 ways of doing pretty much the same thing yet I've never seen a review which slates it for unnecessary duplication.
