Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 Software Review - Verdict

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020

Value For Money

Photoshop Elements 2020 is now available for $99.99 which is around £80 (or you can upgrade to the latest release for £65) and unlike Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, you don't need a subscription to the Creative Cloud to use it. It's also less expensive than a yearly subscription to Adobe's photography plan. Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 is also still available but as of yet, it's not come down in price.

If you want more tools, Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC can be purchased as part of the photography package already mentioned or you could have a look at Affinity Photo (£48.99) or DxO PhotoLab 2.2. Essential and Elite editions for £99 and £159, respectively. Corel PaintShop Pro 2020 also retails for around £89.99.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 Verdict

Adobe Photoshop Elements is still an excellent choice for those looking for basic photo editing software that's simple to use, offers guidance and automated tools for editing photos.

There are some good editions to the tools on offer, we particularly like the colourisation tool and how easy it is to remove unwanted objects from shots. In fact, the addition of the new automated tools will make it even easier for those who are new to photo editing to make creative changes to photos with not much effort. Plus, the Guided Edits are a great way for them to learn how edits are made, too.

The price is reasonable, the software is easy to use and you can make creative/practical edits with ease.

We 'Highly Recommended' the previous version of Photoshop Elements and we see no reason why Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 shouldn't be awarded the accolade, too.

As a 'con' - Some of the effects are cheesy is quite a cheesy statement - it is not compulsory to use them, they do not affect one's editing and they don't add to the cost, so they really have no impact unless used and then that's down to user preference and you are taking liberties with other peoples opinions if you damn them for that.

It would be helpful if, when reviewing updated packages, you mention which version of raw it supports.
