It's that time of year again when Adobe makes new announcements and Photoshop, as well as Photoshop Fix and Mix, are on the 'new features' list this time.
We'll start with Photoshop as with this update comes almost 100 new templates (found under new dialog), two new SVG fonts and seven free brushes created by Kyle Webster, also known as the 'Photoshop Brush Wizard'.
In-App Search can now be accessed via a new search symbol found in the upper right corner of the application and as well as presets, users can now access free Adobe Stock templates from within the application to get started on projects quicker. The Properties panel now displays information about common layer types as well as the document, so it’s easier to make precise adjustments and the Creative Cloud Libraries have also been improved.
Other improvements have been made to the select and mask workspace and Face-Aware Liquify tool, plus Match Font now searches for any font installed on your system and users can click anywhere outside a text box to now commit it.
As for Photoshop Mix and Fix, Adobe is releasing Photoshop Fix 1.0 and Photoshop Mix 2.3 on Android today to give Android users access to tools such as Healing and Liquify. Plus, Photoshop Mix 2.3 adds support for Android tablets. On iOS, Adobe is releasing Photoshop Mix 2.6 and Photoshop Fix 1.6 which brings improvements to the cutout tools (brush, lasso, shapes) and photos can be imported from Google Photos.
Photoshop Fix now comes with a low storage mode which enables customers with the minimum memory allowed by iOS to use Photoshop Fix. To do this, it limits undo/redo and flattens images to save space. Nodes can be added to the face to allow finer adjustments when using the Liquify tool and Auto Skin Smoothing automatically detects a face within a picture and applies a smoothing mask. There's also a new Warmth Adjustment Slider available.
