This week's Photo of the Week accolade has been awarded to an image of a ballerina with an alternative take on the angle of the photo.

The image, titled 'Derelict Ballet' by ePz member russftl was chosen by the team and here's why it stood out to us:

This image offers a breath of fresh air in terms of the camera angle and posing of the ballerina in the frame. The downward angle allows the circular pattern on the floor to frame the dancer, whilst also leading the eye around the image. The red nail polish of the ballerina draws your eye to her carefully positioned hands.

The image has a very natural look, so the red nails add a splash of colour too without being too overpowering. It's also been well lit, with only a small shadow just under the model and the emphasis landing on her face and arms.

Photo of the week winners currently receive a 32GB MicroSD card with SD adapter from Samsung. See all the images that have been awarded the accolade in the Photo of the Week gallery
