Apple iOS 13 To Bring Better Photo Editing Tools & A Cleaner Photo Gallery

Apple has introduced iOS 13 to the world and among some of the clever and cool new features is a better photo library and improved photo editing tools

It's now easier than ever to browse photos/videos in the photo library with on-device machine learning intelligently organising files so only the best images/videos are highlighted and you won't see duplicates, either, as the iPhone can hide similar looking images. Plus, videos will autoplay, bringing movement to the library.

You can also choose to view images from a specific day, month or year which is useful when wanting to look at images/video from a specific event.

The photo editing features found in the iOS photo library aren't the most advanced tools but you can make basic adjustments if you want to quickly improve an image without too much effort and Apple has added a few more tools to make the process more comprehensive and intuitive.

You can now swipe to increase/decrease an effect and most of the photo editing tools can now also be applied to videos which means videos can be rotated, cropped and have filters applied to them.

Portrait Lighting adjustments can be made in the app, too, so you can move the light closer to sharpen eyes and brighten/smooth facial features or push the light further away to create a more subtle look. Fans of monochrome will also be able to apply a new High-Key Mono look to portraits when shooting with the smartphone's portrait mode.

Availability

The new software features will be available this Autumn as a free software update for iPhone 6s and later and will be available with iPadOS for iPad Air 2 and later, all iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation and later and iPad mini 4 and later.
