iPad Pro

Apple has announced the iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus, all of which take steps forward in terms of photography.

The iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch retina screen with 5.6 million pixels, the highest resolution screen of any iOS device, making it ideal for editing 4K video. The iPad Pro has nearly double the CPU capacity of the iPad Air 2 and refined multi touch technology, making it a serious competitor against laptop and desktop computers.

It can also be used with a stylus, Apple Pencil, making it more useful than previous models for creatives.

The iPad Pro has an 8-megapixel iSight camera with hybrid IR filter and f/2.4 aperture. It's capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30 fps and also has slo-mo and timelapse video settings. There's also a 1.2 megapixel FaceTime HD camera on the front.

iPhone 6s

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus can both shoot 4K video, time lapse and slo-mo video with the new 12 megapixel iSight camera featuring autofocus with focus pixels, OIS on the iPhone 6 Plus and exposure control. The 6s has a 4.7 inch display while the 6s Plus has a 5.5 inch. Both are Retina HD displays.

A feature called Live Photos has also been introduced, which captures the moments just before and after your image was taken. When you tap the photo in the gallery, the photo comes to life.

On the front there is a 5-megapixel FaceTimeHD camera capable of 720p HD video recording. Both the front and back cameras feature a bright f/2.2 aperture. There's also the ability to capture 8 megapixel still images while recording 4K video.

Apple had to launch a replacement program last month for certain iPhone 6 Plus cameras that were taking blurry images.
