An environmental portrait showcasing minimalist architecture has been awarded the POTW accolade.
The image 'Texting' by Diggeo was chosen by the team to win the award, and here's why we thought it deserved to win:
This modern environmental portrait really struck us because as well as being cleverly composed, it has something to say about society today. The alternative viewpoint and uniquely structured walkways have allowed the photographer to capture an image with lots of depth. Luckily the two people present in the scene have stopped to look at their phones in prime positions.
Horizontal and vertical lines in the brutalist architecture lead the eye through this image and rule of thirds has been used well to place the people in a pleasing composition. A square crop works well and gives everything enough breathing space while still keeping the image confined to an abstract view.
POTW winners are currently given a 32GB MicroSDHC card with SD adapter from Samsung. See all the images that have won the accolade in the POTW gallery.
