Perfect365 is an iOS (iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch) app that allows you to edit and improve your portraits on the move, automatically detecting where your eyes, nose and mouth are. With one click it lightens the dark circles under your eyes, removes the blemish on your cheek or adds colour to your face. You can also use the make-up and enhancing tools to glamorise your eyes, emphasise your brows or slim your face. You finished images can then be saved and shared on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

ArcSoft Perfect365 iOS App Performance

When you first open the app you can choose to open the last photo, select one from your photo albums or take a new photo. There are even some example photos for you to practice on. When you have your photo the app scans it to find a face and takes you to the editing menu. You are presented with nice presets to choose from, with examples of each below. So in just one touch, your image is transformed.

Hitting keypoints allows you to tell the app where various facial features are so it can be more accurate in its editing. This only takes a couple of minutes. To take your editing further you simply need to hit customise. This takes you to a wide range of characteristics which can be changed including: UnBlemish, Remove Circles, Whiten Skin, Soften Skin, Blush, Trim Face, Lift Cheeks, Enhance Nose, Eye Liners, Contacts, Eye Lashes, Eye Shadow, Brighten Eyes, Enlarge Eyes, Deepen Smile, Whiten Teeth and Lipstick. Most of the characteristics can be changed to varying levels (between 0 - 100%) and there are different colour options for some of them, including eye liner and eye shadow.

The example below has used many of the features such as soften skin, whiten teeth, enlarge eyes and others. They have been amended to the highest possible degree to emphasis what can be done with the app.

If you are happy with your custom style you can save it to apply to your other portrait images. It's a nice idea but as you can see from Dan's before and after shots, it can create some interesting results. The second image below has had exactly the same actions performed on it as the picture of Chloe above and Dan has turned into an alien! Which isn't a great look!

ArcSoft Perfect365 iOS App Verdict

The Perfect365 has some really good options for editing portraits which will appeal to all users, you can make subtle edits to produce great portraits, or you can have a lot of fun overdoing the edits to create wierd and bizarre images. If the app was capable of producing images to the same resolution as the input this app would be highly recommended, hopefully this will come in a later update (version 1.0.3 allows saving of large photos, iPad 2,000,000 and iPhone 1,000,000).
