A wedding photographer has gone viral after sharing a photo which shows a wedding guest sticking their smartphone out into the aisle and subsequently, ruining the photographer's shot. 

The bride entering a wedding venue, with her dad on her arm, is an important part of any wedding ceremony and when Hannah Mbalenhle Stanley of Hannah Way Photography went to hit the shutter button to capture the bride's entrance, a guest's smartphone appeared in the middle of the shot.

To highlight her frustration, Hannah took to social media where she shared the following words: 

"To the girl with the iPhone...

Not only did you ruin my shot, but you took this moment away from the groom, father of the bride, and the bride. What exactly do you plan on doing with that photo? Honestly. Are you going to print it out? Save it? Look at it every day? No. You're not. But my bride would have printed this photo, looked at it often and reminisced over this moment as her dad walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. But instead, you wanted to take a photo with your phone, blocking my view, and taking a photo that you will not use.

Guests, please stop viewing weddings you attend through a screen but instead turn OFF your phone, and enjoy the ceremony. You are important to the bride and groom, you would not be attending the wedding otherwise. So please, let me do my job, and you just sit back, relax and enjoy this once in a lifetime moment.

The post has since gone viral with over 1000 comments and 161K shares but not everyone is on the side of the photographer with comments such as: ''As a wedding photographer myself, this is absolutely overkill. I get nearly 100 shots of this moment alone! If this wedding photographer failed at her duty to capture the correct image, that’s on her, not the guest."

Weddings aren't the only place this is happening either with more people watching concerts through their smartphone screens rather than looking directly at the stage which brings us onto the question: "Do you think we need to put the smartphone down more?" Yes, they're great photography tools we can literally take straight out of our pockets but does that mean we need to do it at every given moment? Let us know your thoughts below.
