The AutoStitch app makes it possible to shoot high-resolution panoramic images on the iPhone or iPod Touch. The app will combine multiple photos with no visible seams upto a resolution of 18 megapixels. Stitching can be done vertically, horizontally, or mixed arrangements.

The AutoStitch app is very easy to use. Simply take a number of photos with any picture taking app, which overlap by approximately 30%. Enter the AutoStitch app and select the photos you want to join together. Hit the stitch button and the app gets to work. The time it takes to create images depends on the settings used, you can change the resolution and maximum image size. Once this process is finished you are presented with an image with uneven edges. Simply hit the crop button and the app automatically sets the best crop, which you can adjust if you prefer. Hit the second crop button which appears and you the final image. This can now be saved to your iPhone Photo Albums, sent via email or posted to Facebook.

The image below looks excellent, in the four images used the sky was a slightly different shade of grey in each and the app has created an image with the same exposure throughout. When viewed at full size, it is possible to see some slight blurring in one area of the photo, but viewed on sites such as Facebook this is totally unnoticeable.
