Award-winning Kodak Professional BW400CN now availableKodak have announced the availability in the UK of the new award-winning Kodak Professional BW400CN film, the latest versatile addition to their professional film portfolio. Designed to be processed in C-41 colour negative chemistry, this multi-purpose, black-and-white chromogenic film was recently voted "Best Film in Europe 2004" by The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). The TIPA judging panel issued the following statement about its choice: "With the introduction of the BW 400CN black-and-white film, Kodak has shown its continued commitment to film. The outstanding image quality and the very convenient CN-processing makes this the black-and-white film of choice for photographers who are looking for the artistic value of black-and-white photography."

New Kodak Professional BW400CN film provides extremely fine grain, outstanding highlight and shadow detail, and a smooth neutral tone scale and will be available in 35mm and 120 format. The film's multi-purpose characteristics will make it the natural choice for chromogenic photography and from now on, it will replace both Kodak Professional T400CN and Kodak Professional Portra 400BW films.
"This new film will meet a multitude of creative needs for photographers who like the style of black-and-white photography plus the convenience of printing on colour paper," said Clare Bruce, Kodak Professional Product Manager. "This latest introduction also reinforces Kodak's commitment to film and to meeting the future creative, business and workflow needs of professional and amateur photographers."

Kodak have also announced that improved Kodak Professional Portra 800 film is now available. A key member of the Portra colour negative film portfolio, improvements include finer grain for smooth enlargements and increased latitude for under-exposure. Ideal for low light or for capturing images with motion, this high speed film delivers superior images time and time again.
