From Benro UK:
Benro announces new Bat Series tripods
Benro today announces the launch of new Bat series tripods, a range of six models available in Carbon Fibre or Aluminium and supplied in kits with Benro VX Ballheads. Sporting five pre-set leg angles that enable them to cope easily with even the most demanding of shooting positions, these tripods are designed with versatility, portability and absolute precision at heart.
Uniquely, Bat series tripod legs can be folded back on themselves to lean up against a wall or other uneven or inaccessible surfaces. They can also be individually adjusted for height to cope with steep gradients and uneven terrain. This makes the tripods unparalleled for versatility, enabling them to be used in even the most unconventional and unforgiving of spaces. The dual locking centre column provides extra height while a lengthened locking knob enhances locking strength for ultimate stability.
The new models enable photographers to quickly and seamlessly invert the central column without removing it for low-level shooting. They can also transform into a monopod by removing the centre column and connecting it to one of the removable tripod legs. A choice of sizes and materials ensure the Bat series will be comfortable on any shoot whether out in the wild or in the studio.
Benro has reviewed and refined several elements of tripod design and manufacture in this series, keeping to its tradition of making micro-adjustments to perfect performance-based on continual research and development within its labs, alongside customer feedback. Features such as a new casting design to reduce weight, new leg-lock grip design for improved handling and braided carbon fibre composite tubing for increased weight capacity combine in all models to deliver intuitive, simple and sophisticated performance. These refinements will all be felt by photographers alongside more immediately obvious new features.
The series comes in a kit with Benro’s dual-panning VX Ballheads, with an Arca-compatible camera plate for easy, robust connection with almost any DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Three dedicated mounts enable accessories to be quickly and easily attached, while 3-step self-adaptive rubber feet improve tripod stability. Benro’s reverse folding leg design enables tripod legs to quickly fold down for ease of transport and storage. All models are supplied with a carrying bag and an additional set of spiked feet.
Benro announces new Tortoise Series tripods
Benro today completes its trio of new product announcements with the release of new Tortoise series tripods. With no centre column these tripods are super-light and can collapse down to less than 8cm diameter making them one of the most compact and portable in Benro’s range. Seven models in total – five photo and two video – including a miniature version for tabletop or extreme low-angle shooting mean there is something to fit all photographers’ needs in this range. A whole host of Benro patented technology contributes to no loss of performance despite their convenient proportions; while the option of a removable centre column can be added for those who require additional height.
Tortoise tripods extend up to 164cm in height and can support a maximum load of up to 18KG. This is more than enough for almost all professional-level Mirrorless, DSLR or Video cameras and equals, or improves on, many heavier and less compact models. New braided Carbon Fibre composite tubing in tripod legs improves Tortoise’ weight-bearing capacity by 13% over previous compact models, while Benro’s simple twist-lock system means legs can be quickly and easily adjusted for height independently of each other.
The new range debuts Benro’s auto-hold leg adjustment feature in a compact range, making even the most complex of set-ups accessible no matter where the shoot is taking place. Simply move the trigger at the top of each tripod leg to the ‘open’ position, adjust leg to exactly the angle and position required and press the locking-button to hold.
The five photo tripods in the Tortoise series are available in kits with Benro’s new GX low-profile ballheads, for ultimate performance. The two models in the video range are available in kits with the popular S4PRO video head. The Benro GX heads feature an Arca-compatible camera plate for universal use, with safety features to ensure camera gear is kept safe when adjusting or swapping kit at speed. All models feature Benro’s trusted three-step self-adaptive rubber feet for improved stability and come with a spare set of spiked feet for varying terrains and a carry-case.
For ultimate versatility, with a simple press the 3/8” thread mount converts to a ¼” mount, while three ¼” threads are included on the main casting for mounting accessories. In addition, to make the Tortoise series a true all-rounder, an additional centre column is available for those times when photographers require additional height.
Benro Announces New Lightweight VX and GX Ballheads
Benro today announces the launch of its new lightweight VX and GX Ballheads for precision shooting. Comprising six models, the series delivers lighter head design combined with quality materials for second-to-none strength-to-weight ratio. Dual panoramic capability offers full 360o rotation from both the Quick Release platform and base of the ballheads, with fine calibration marks for fast and highly accurate positioning. The GX range debuts a new, low-profile design for even higher payload capabilities and smoother, more precise control.
The new ranges twin superior quality with simple design for intuitive operation with features that take all the guesswork out of tripod operation, allowing photographers to focus on getting the shot. Camera positioning and friction control for the unlocked central ball are managed via a single control knob, for accurate, fluid movement while removing the need for multiple, distracting controls. An on-board bubble level adds confidence that each shot is level without the use of external tools.
The new, low-profile design of the GX heads lowers the centre-of-gravity of an attached camera and lens, reducing the amount of leverage on the head and helping it to hold even more securely. They are a powerful tool for photographers who need portability in their camera gear without wanting to compromise on strength, precision or performance.
Both VX and GX ballheads feature a newly designed, lightweight Arca-compatible Quick Release plate which enables cameras to be attached and removed quickly and simply. Crafted from CNC-machined aluminium, the heads offer reduced weight but no loss of payload and, together with the increased locking strength of the central ball, mean you can trust your gear will be safe and fully supported. Additional safety features such as a pull-and-twist safety lock on the QR plate add to photographers’ ability to trust their tools and work with a clear head.
The VX and GX heads feature a 3/8” female thread in the base, meaning they will work across Benro’s tripod range, and with other tripods using the same size attachment. Updated elegant and lightweight design means the heads are pleasing to use and transport.
