Olympus M. Zuiko 8-25mm F/4.0 ProThe 8-25mm f/4 has a frield of view that equates to a 35mm-format of 16-50mm which is, of course, extremely useful given its general-purpose range. An f/2.8 lens might be the norm but trimming the maximum aperture to f/4 holds the promise of a more compact optic. This is a versatile lens indeed, performing well, nice and compact and at a reasonable price, making it a strong contender as a go-to travel companion. The close focusing is also a bonus. CA will be well-controlled, there's very low distortion, modest vignetting and the AF system performs well. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 ISOlympus has produced a long-range zoom with a limited aperture that is relatively light and compact. A 100-400mm lens with a "35mm equivalent" field of view of 200-800mm has to be an attractive proposition for wildlife and sports photographers, especially when it is as compact as this lens is. Overall, it's a superb lens that's easy to use and performs excellently. The IS system works well, extending the usefulness of the lens as the light levels fall and the price is also excellent. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm f/4.0 PROThe standard zoom has much merit, saving us changing lenses constantly and offering a versatile set of focal lengths. The focal length is a vital aspect and here the usefulness of have that ultra-wide 12mm (24mm-equivalent) cannot be underestimated. The 45mm long end (90mm equivalent) is an ideal portrait-length, although of course, being MFT format, we might wish for a much wider aperture to obtain the best out-of-focus background effects. The very close focusing is an added bonus. Depth of field is an issue, but as well as a disadvantage for perhaps portraiture, equally well this could be an advantage for other types of photography. Perhaps close sports, groups of people, landscape and travel, in general, will benefit from more extended zones of focus. The quality is there if we choose our apertures, and is definitely there in terms of distortion, flare and CA. The lens is very suitable for architectural shots, again perhaps coming under the umbrella of being a travel lens. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3Here we have a huge range in a compact form in the Olympus 12-200mm, giving a "35mm-format equivalent" of 24-400mm and it's a dream to use. The concept of the all-in-one travel zoom is great, with a long reach and really close focus all built-in. There will be many travellers who will take to this lens and produce very memorable images. It isn't perfect technically, but mega-zooms by their nature are pushing the boundaries and we have to accept that there is some trade-off between quality and convenience. It is also true that many lenses from all the marques may not fare strongly at MTF50 standards, but still have plenty of merit in producing bright, punchy images. The concentration with this lens is weighted towards better performance at wider focal lengths and at the centre of the image field, but the extra reach available will still be appreciated in many situations. |

Olympus M. Zuiko Premium 30mm f/3.5 Macro EDAn uncommon but useful focal length, excellent performance and very close focusing all make the 30mm f/3.5 Macro ED lens an interesting option. It is compact, and efficient, although lacking in some features that can be useful on a dedicated macro, such as the focusing and depth of field scales. We are also missing weather sealing. Nonetheless, if a compact, inexpensive lens is required then the performance will not disappoint. |

Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.2 PROThis 25mm f/1.2 lens for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) cameras is equivalent to a 50mm f/1.2 "standard" lens in 35mm-format terms. The standard lens was for many years the lens of choice when buying a new camera, in more recent times largely replaced by the "kit zoom". However, a growing awareness that prime lenses are light, bright and potentially of better quality than inexpensive zooms gives rise to their current popularity as a subsequent purchase. The Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.2 PRO is a lovely lens with beautiful bokeh and an ultra-bright f/1.2 aperture. It's a very fine lens with excellent sharpness that borders on outstanding, low CA, no flare and a very pleasing bokeh. Add to that the low light potential and we have a very attractive proposition indeed. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PROOlympus are renowned for high-quality lenses and this 300mm f/4 optic is aimed at the very top of the range in terms of both quality and also being a rather long Micro-Four-Thirds design. The cost of the lens is reasonable and add to that its compact size, relatively lightweight and excellent ergonomics, you have a lens that's rather desirable. Quality is superb and the fact that close focusing brings other subjects into range is an added bonus. All in all, a lot of thought and skill has gone into this lens and it is certain to find favour amongst Olympus MFT sports and wildlife photographers. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PROThis ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system cameras provides an angle of view equivalent to a 14-28mm lens used on a 35mm format camera and sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. The lens is also dust and splashproof. During testing this lens proved itself worthy, by delivering images with outstanding sharpness, whilst handling well and sporting a robust dust and moisture resistant construction. The lens may be a little prone to flare, but given the extreme angle of view on offer and the compact size of the lens, this flaw may be something many will be able to forgive, or even forget.

Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye PROThis diagonal fisheye lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras offers a very wide field of view of 180 degrees, with the barrel distortion effect you'd normally expect from a fisheye lens. By producing a diagonal fisheye lens with a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, Olympus has created something unique. Not only will the fast aperture allow for shooting in low light conditions with the expansive field of view you'd expect of a fisheye, but it also delivers outstanding sharpness and robust build in a compact package. |

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PROThis telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system cameras provides an angle of view equivalent to an 80-300mm lens used on a 35mm format camera and sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. The lens is also moisture and dust resistant and is available for around £1300. The combination of great build quality and performance alone is enough to recommend this lens. The fact that it offers a unique zoom range, whilst maintaining a fast f/2.8 throughout is even better. It's capable of delivering excellent image quality too and is even fairly reasonably priced. For the most part, it handles well too, thanks to its robust build and relative lightweight and compact size, although it's worth noting that it still may be a little large for use with the smallest Micro Four Thirds bodies.

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6Superzoom lenses are not usually known for delivering excellent quality images, and are instead, normally considered a bit of a compromise. This 14-150mm lens from Olympus bucks that trend, delivering excellent sharpness in the centre of the frame throughout the zoom range. This is achieved in a lightweight, compact design that doesn't compromise on convenience either. |
