The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) is proud to present the Open Awards 2013.
Open to photographers outside of the BIPP member-base, these awards invite photography professionals to benchmark their work against that of their peers, while having its quality judged against BIPP standards.
The categories for entry to the BIPP Open Awards are as follows:
Portraiture (PP) (Includes pets, babies, children, family portraits, events such as birthday parties etc. It doesn’t include weddings or fashion)
Science & Technology (S&T) (Includes Science, Medical, Forensic, Natural History, Biology, Environmental Impact, Technology, Research, Aerial, High Speed/time lapse)
Commercial (Com) (Includes Industrial, Fashion, Hair & Beauty, Architectural, Advertising & Product, Event, Sport, Theatre & Dance, Photojournalism)
Visual Arts (V A) (Includes Pictorial/ Illustrative, Travel, Wildlife & Nature (inc. Underwater), Landscape/Seascape, Abstract)
A winner will be selected from each category, all of which will then be considered for the title of Winner, BIPP Open 2013. This is an entirely separate and stand-alone competition from the rest of the BIPP Awards.
The BIPP Awards are amongst the most highly regarded in the industry, and success in these awards shows an incredibly high standard of work. Not only are the judges looking for composition and technical ability, but also creativity, interpretation and that ‘wow factor’.
