Bowens International is fifty years old and the company (alongside Limelite - its very much younger videography and broadcast division) is set to light up the town with an exclusive celebratory competition for photographers.

It’s this simple. All you have to do is submit a photograph (online) to Bowens using the theme '50'. The Bowens Litebook team will shortlist its favourite images which will then appear on the Bowens Facebook page. The public will then choose a winner who will pick up £600 worth of Bowens lighting equipment.

Bowens International marketing director Robert Cook said: "The company began by making flash units in the backroom of a Victorian mill and over the past half a century it has grown to become one of the largest lighting manufacturers in the world with offices on three continents; distribution in 65 countries and a 60,000 square foot production facility to service burgeoning global demand.

And with a sharp focus on the next fifty years we’ve also established Limelite – our new video lighting division – to ensure we always have appropriate cutting edge products for photographers as photography and videography disciplines continue to converge.

So it's 'Happy Birthday to us' – and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning £600 worth of lighting kit is give it your best shot!"

Photographers have until the end of May to submit their images. Visit the Bowens website to enter.
