The Canon EOS R and the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III are both new full-frame mirrorless cameras but when you sit them next to each other, how do they compare? To find out, we've compared the specs of each camera side-by-side to see how they face-off.

We've also compared the Canon EOS R with the new Nikon Z6, too.

Camera Body Weight, Size & Design

There's only a 10g weight difference between the Canon EOS R (660g) and the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III (650g) and they're quite similar in size, too. Although, the Alpha A7 Mark III does have a much more box-style body than the Canon EOS R which has a few more curves to it.

Image Sensor & Resolution

A 30Mp CMOS sensor can be found in the Canon EOS R while inside the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III is a 24MP back-lit CMOS sensor.
