Canon EOS R5 (12)

Today, Canon released further details on the new Canon EOS R5, including details on the camera recording 8K video at 30fps, as well as animal detection autofocus. We went to see Canon UK, and have these photos of the R5 to share with you.

The camera has dual-pixel CMOS AF, built-in image stabilisation, up to 20fps continuous shooting (using an electronic shutter), and 12fps continuous shooting using the mechanical shutter. As you can see from the photos below, the camera has side access to the memory card compartment, as well as multiple ports on the side, including mic, headphone, flash, USB, and HDMI.

The rear of the camera is where you can find a joystick, scroll wheel, and the vari-angle touch-screen. The layout of controls and options should be familiar to anyone who's used other Canon EOS cameras, and the camera reminds us of other Canon EOS DSLRs. As the camera is still in the "development announcement" stage of its life, we were not able to shoot with the camera, or see the camera's menu system and options. We will share more details on the camera as soon as Canon share them.
