Canon adds a new super zoom to its PowerShot range with 40x optical zoom and built-in Bluetooth.

Canon has refreshed its PowerShot SX travel series just in time for the summer with a superzoom that's compact, shoots Full HD films and features Bluetooth so images can be viewed on smart devices.
The PowerShot SX730 HS, which updates the SX720 HS, combines a 20.3MP CMOS sensor with a DIGIC 6 processor and shoots continuously at 5.9 fps. The wide-angle lens features 40x optical zoom and 80x ZoomPlus can be used to extend this reach. AF speeds sit at 0.12 seconds and 8 mode Intelligent IS keeps images shake-free while 5-axis advanced Dynamic IS is used when capturing Full HD movies.
The 7.5cm LCD screen on the PowerShot SX730 HS tilts and as you'd expect, Wi-Fi is built-in. A constant connection between your camera and smartphone can also be maintained via Bluetooth so you can view your photos while your camera is safely tucked away in your bag or you can use the connection to remotely control the camera. If you download the Camera Connect App you can also synchronise the location of all your photos with GPS data.
Various creative filters and modes are built-in, including Creative Shot Mode which creates five additional versions of your image with a variety of filters and effects. Fans of Instagram can also use Short Clip Movie mode to capture four or five second Full HD clips with a variety of playback options, including slow and fast motion, to share with their followers.
The PowerShot SX730 HS is available from May 2017 with an RRP of £379.99.
