Canon IXUS 275 HS Verdict

The Canon IXUS 275 HS offers a lot of optical zoom in a very compact camera, with pleasing images thanks to bright saturated colours and good exposure straight from the camera. However, there is fierce competition in this segment, and alternatives offer quicker continuous shooting at a lower price, in the form of the Sony Cyber-shot WX220, although with slightly less optical zoom.

For those that want an easy to use compact camera, with a good range of shooting modes and creative effects, the Canon IXUS 275 HS is good and offers an excellent macro mode. Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity makes it easy to remotely control the camera and transfer images, making it easy to share images on social media websites such as Facebook, and photos will look great when shared on-line. With a 20 megapixel sensor, noise is quite noticeable, but as long as you don't plan on making large prints, this shouldn't cause too many problems.

Canon IXUS 275 HS Pros

12x optical zoom lens in a very compact camera
Good colour reproduction

Good build quality

Canon IXUS 275 HS Cons

Lacks auto HDR mode
Lacks auto panoramic shooting
Short battery life unless using ECO mode
Noise in images
